How operators are selected

The three operators compared on this site — Poseidon Expeditions, WildPhoto Travel, and Secret Atlas — were selected for their relevance to "svalbard photography tour" specifically: each runs dedicated or heavily photography-oriented expeditions to Svalbard, spans the three realistic ship-size categories a buyer chooses between (large expedition ship, boutique micro-ship, celebrity-guide micro-ship), and holds current IAATO or AECO membership. Operators without a clear photography-tour offering, or without verifiable polar-operator association membership, are not included.

How data is sourced and kept current

Ship specifications, group sizes, season windows, and guide models are drawn from each operator's public website and published brand materials. Price fields marked "Price on request" reflect that the operator does not publish a rate publicly — it is not an omission on our part. This page is reviewed periodically; if an operator changes a ship, season, or membership status, we update the corresponding section.

Commercial disclosure

This site currently has no commercial, affiliate, or referral relationship with Poseidon Expeditions, WildPhoto Travel, or Secret Atlas. No link on this page earns a commission. If that changes in the future, this section will be updated to disclose it explicitly.

Corrections

If you work for one of the featured operators, or you're a reader who's spotted an inaccuracy, tell us via Contact and we'll review and correct it.
